Hello there!
I seem to be running a bit behind on NaPoWriMo. Also not able to get into all the activities due to time constraints.
So on Day 5, here is my Day 4 poem on the prompt of liminal spaces. It is about a space I am familiar with - the early morning Anglian landscape. The space between night and day, where the space between land and sky is often blurred.
Space <Between> Space
My senses try to open
in the askew dawn light
< Insert Horizon >
and formless ground below
on a frosty morning walk.
Out along the fen drove
where three-quarter sky
< Insert Horizon>
touches one quarter land
making a whole landscape.
Morning rising sun slits
the grey sky-screen mistiness
< Insert Horizon >
rich dark soil caressed
by nature’s warm hand.
Kestrels swoop as Owls depart
and morning bird calls begin
< Insert Horizon >
Hedgerows weaving into focus
Ditches refuse the light.
Landscapes merging without
that dividing space
< Between >
space that marks portals
closed to human senses.
